After we left Jagalchi we had some time to kill before meeting our couchsurfing host. We decided to check out Bosu Book St. a rather short walk from the market it turned out.
On our way we walked through Bupyeong Market. It’s a gigantic market. It’s amazing to me that people can make a living (or can they?) selling things at these markets. There is so much of the same thing! Still, for us, a great way to kill some time.
Bosu Book Street is a small alley full of small book stores. It has a 62 year history! Most of the books are in Korean but it’s still quite a sight. We found several stacks of English books although we held off buying anything. If this street were in my home city in the US, I’d have a real problem…
We found a great bookstore that had a cafe in its basement so we sat for a while and had coffee. Then it was time for us to meet our amazing host, Sonja. She really made this trip to Busan extra wonderful. Later in the evening we saw the beach (it was a bit rainy) before having some fantastic beers at Galmegi, and then we went to hang out with Sonja and her friends. We had a great time. Maybe too great? We were still out when the sun rose the next morning…
