After we left Sudeoksa we had one more stop at Eunseong Apple Winery. It’s relatively new to a very young wine scene in Korea and has only been in operation for 5 years. The owner lived in Canada for ten years and learned how to make wine (with grapes) there. He brought what he’d learned back to his father-in-law’s apple orchard and started to make apple wine. He makes three varieties, an apple dessert wine, a dry apple wine, and an apple brandy. The owner was very friendly while he led us around on a tour of the small winery. We were given samples of each wine and the brandy, too.
Before our tour we all made apple pies. After we finished the tour, our pies were ready to come out of the oven. They were delicious! It was a nice way to round out the trip but by the end of it, we were ready to get home to Truman, cuddle up in bed, and watch the rain through the window.
