Each year our town hosts a festival. There is a small parade along with booths and bands all weekend long. It’s held at the county courthouse in the center of town, and it’s a small, but quaint affair.
The parade was on Saturday morning, and there were people from all over the region in the parade. Everyone throws candy or freebies from their vehicle or float. It was a very entertaining parade. Zach and the MHS band rode on a trailer, the MHS cheerleaders followed behind, there were Shriners from Odessa in funky cars, even the local food truck owner’s collection of cars.
On Sunday Zach and I hung out at the festival. It was a nice way to spend an afternoon – great weather, food, beer, and music. We spent several hours just sitting in our chairs enjoying the music and people watching.
